The women wear southern belle dresses, an archetype for a young woman of the American Old South’s upper class, and the men dress like confederate soldiers, although they only wore white Polo’s, kakis and red suspenders. Have you checked out Pinterest?
As a public relations student,...

Have you checked out Pinterest?

As a public relations student, I am always checking out the up-and-coming social media sites, and I have found the Mecca of social media sites.

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard, where you can organize and share things you love. With that in mind, I have my own Pinterest account with 10 “boards” and 310 “pins.” Boards are used to organize your pins into different categories. For example, I have a board for job design, sayings, my style, home decor, etc. The pins are the actual pictures you have on your boards.

You may ask how this relates to public relations. The answer to that is simple. It is another channel you can use to reach your public. For example, clothing stores with websites can post photos of their clothing to Pinterest, and then Pinterest users can repin those photos and share them with others. It is a great and easy way to expand your audience and the number of people you reach online.

Try it out, and let me know if you have any questions! Happy Pinning :)

I feel like I have to paint a picture of the reflective moment I’m having. I ran across this picture and thought about all of the fabulous friends I have. I am so blessed. ADPi has given me friends and opportunities I couldn’t have dreamed of. I feel so lucky to have my ADPi family and my friends. I’m glad I am realizing how lucky I am now so I can relish these next two years.

I’m not sure what the point of this post is, but to those of you who I am blessed enough to call my friends, thank you for everything you have given me… you know who you are.
